I was born and raised in Massachusetts and I have the heavy, South Boston accent to prove it. We lived in a small, quiet town. When I was 20 I moved into an apartment with my boyfriend. My first child was born shortly after. And, shortly after that, my boyfriend and I broke up and I moved back home with my parents. Darci and I shared a room. I started seeing this other guy and Darci asked me if we were going to get married. We eventually did.
Florida
We moved to Florida and lived in Navy housing. Josh had just joined the Navy and they set us up in a nice home, in a nice, quiet neighborhood. We hated being away from friends and family, but it was also cool to venture off on our own. That is where Darci went to school for the first time and it's also where my second child was born. It was very hard being pregnant during the ridiculously hot summer. They even recommended that no one go outside (unless absolutely necessary) between the hours of 11am~2pm. When we first moved down there, someone had told Josh about a huge rattle snake in the area. My brother and sister actually saw it when they visited one time. From a distance, they thought it was a small alligator. It was kind of cool living in Florida. We were very close to Disney, Sea World, and Universal. But, a couple of major disasters happened when we were there that year. That was the year that those major wildfires broke out and they had to call in firefighters from around the country. That was also the year where there were seven tornadoes in one night. When they showed a map on the news, we were right in the center of it. A trailer park five miles down the road from us got demolished. I'll never forget all the amazing stories I read in the paper for weeks after that. I'm not much of a beach person anymore, but when we lived in florida, we went to some nice beaches. We saw the Daytona race track and the Kennedy Space Center, so that was wicked cool.
New York
Our next home was in Saratoga Springs. We lived in a cute, cozy apartment on base housing. It was a very nice area with a lot of nice walking trails. I loved going into town. There was a lot of nice shops and walkways. We only lived there for six months, but family visited often because we were close to home.
Connecticut
This is the state where my son was born (my third and last child.) We lived there for three years and I still keep in touch with one of my friends from there (thanks to MySpace.) That's also where I first got into selling Avon products. We were even closer to our families, so we visited on a regular basis. The school was even so close that we walked there everyday. It was so energizing to take a nice walk early in the morning.
South Carolina
Well, this is the state where we now live. We were living on base housing for a couple of years, then we bought a house. Josh and I seperated, but we remain good friends. I stopped selling Avon, but wouldn't mind getting back into it. A lot has happened here. Aside from the split from my husband, his mother passed away (she was living with us at the time), our guinea pig died, we got two cats, I got two new jobs, met some cool people (and not so cool people). And, Darci and I both have serious boyfriends.
So, those are the states that I have lived in. Most likely Darci and I will remain here in South Carolina while my other two kids go live with their dad.
